About me

In my previous career, I had over 30 years experience in the health and social care field, assisting people at times of great distress in their lives. This included supporting numerous families after the loss of someone they loved. Many of these families had lost someone in particularly challenging circumstances, such as the sudden death of a younger person, a family member taking their own life, or the death of a relative who had dementia.

Now, as a funeral celebrant, I consider it both a privilege and a responsibility to assist people in creating the funeral ceremony that’s right for them and their family, whatever the circumstances. I always discuss and check all the details of the ceremony, including the content of any tribute or eulogy, to ensure it’s as each family wants it to be.  After the funeral, I send a copy of the full script of the ceremony, for family to keep.

I trained as a funeral celebrant in 2021, with Civil Ceremonies Ltd, who’ve specialised in celebrancy training since they were founded in 2002. They’ve been graded by Ofsted as “Outstanding” as a training provider. I hold an NOCN Level 3 Diploma in Funeral Celebrancy, ensuring I was rigorously assessed as having the skills and sensitivity to create and deliver high quality, personalised ceremonies. I have also adopted the Funeral Celebrant Accord of The Funeral Celebrancy Council, which is a commitment to the highest professional standards, including continuing professional development.
